It is of Persian origin and comes from the word "jam" meaning flower and "dani" meaning vase, displaying beautiful floral motifs on the sarees. It is a hand-woven technique that is weaved using a mixture of cotton and gold-coloured thread to create motifs of geometric patterns and floral designs in colourful hues.
