Not every Paithani is woven with a Baro Panja.

In fact, among the hundreds of documented Paithani motifs, the Baro Panja remains one of the rarest and most technically demanding designs ever created. Reserved exclusively for the pallu, its intricate twelve-unit geometric composition cannot simply be copied—it has to be understood, memorized, and woven thread by thread on the handloom.

Unlike floral or peacock motifs that follow established layouts, the Baro Panja is a thread-counted weave. Every line, angle, and symmetrical detail is calculated directly on the loom, without relying on printed templates. It is a craft that demands extraordinary precision, years of experience, and an intimate understanding of the handloom—qualities possessed only by our senior master weavers.
